Hey! Carson here!
Whether it feels like it or not (um, it snowed today), Spring is just around the corner! As we start to transition into the new season, it’s common to feel frustrated with your wardrobe. Rather than shopping for a ton of new spring clothes, sometimes a few new, lower investment items is all it take to breath new life into some of last year’s favorites! Keep scrolling to find six of our favorite small additions to your spring wardrobe!
Step Out of the Shade with New Sunnies
Step away from the Aviators… I repeat, step away from the Aviators! I know we all love our old standby sunglasses! Those classic styles are the ones that are worth spending a little more money on and investing in. However, this spring, why not step out of your comfort zone and switch up your shades? There are a ton of cheaper brands out there (that are still nice quality and look more expensive than they are), so branch out! Sunglasses are an easy way to instantly add extra personality and flare to your look. Try out some sunglasses that maybe have a pop of color or a funky shape.
A Fresh Oxford Shirt
A classic, crisp button-down is a wardrobe staple. It can be worn all year long, and can be styled for almost any occasion. However, because it is a lighter shade and crisper material, it needs to be replaced or updated every so often. If your favorite oxford is looking tired, or you don’t have one in your closet, spring is the perfect time to add one in! The styling possibilities are seriously endless. Just check out the real life Lookbook pictures below! I styled the same light blue oxford a variety of ways for transitioning into spring. The proof is in the pudding, folks!
These are straight from a client’s Lookbook:
Tassels have been trending for several seasons now, but the tassel train isn’t slowing down anytime soon! AHStyling is a huge fan of tassels, whether it’s on necklaces, bracelet, earrings, etc.! They can add so much fun and color to a look, which is what dressing for spring is all about! We are huge fans of the companies Collections by Joya and Moon Rocks to Roses; both of which create some amazing tassel pieces. Baublebar has also been a big producer of awesome tassel jewelry. Adding a pop of color with tassel jewelry can elevate an otherwise simple or boring look. You’ll be pleasantly surprised how versatile this fun addition is!
Pom Pom Clutch
If you’ve been shopping recently or have checked out new spring collections, I’m sure you’ve come across some colorful poms! Nothing will add a dose of “fun” to your wardrobe this season quite like poms. Last year, we saw them trending on shoes and sandals. I love that they have made their way onto bags, as well! For those of you who don’t wear a lot of color or have more traditional tastes, a pom-covered clutch might seem out of your comfort zone. Although this clutch is a statement piece, it is actually super versatile and will give your wardrobe an instant color solution. Just think of something as simple as a white blouse and jeans, but with the addition of this fun bag! It will become your new go-to, even through the summer!
Here at AHStyling, we love any excuse for an extra “dry shampoo” day! Turbans are such a chic way to accessorize a look, with the bonus of being able to disguise some messy hair! It’s the perfect boho addition, especially for resort and vacation season. Check out owner and head stylist, Annie, rocking hers below!
Neck Scarves / Bandannas
A neck scarf or bandanna is not only one of the trendiest accessories this season, but it also might be one of the least expensive! To be honest, the one I’m wearing in the picture below (second photo down) is from Tractor Supply a couple years ago! Okay, some of you might not even know what Tractor Supply is…I guess I’m letting my Kentucky roots show a little bit there! Regardless, you can find neck scarves and bandannas just about everywhere. You can dress up this trend with a nice blouse and blazer, or tie it on with something as simple as a plain t-shirt! Neck ties have all the components of a perfect trend: inexpensive, versatile, and easy to wear! Annie and I have already been spotted rocking them with off-shoulder tops (another huge must-have this spring):
I hope this has given you some inspiration for your own spring wardrobe! Now, can we just get that spring weather, please!?
