Romp Around

Hello lovelies!

When the St. Louis heat is sweltering and I feel like I’m living in a chronic sauna, I break out my old standards: rompers and lightweight slip dresses. Easy to wear and comfortable, rompers are a casual departure from your go-to tank/tee and shorts.

I recently picked up this romper, and fell in love with the watercolor floral print and the pretty cool palette of blues, teals and purples. Such a feminine romper, and still age-appropriate with a 5-6 inch inseam. I always tell my clients – not every trend is for every BODY, and let me tell you – trends should always be modified to fit your age and body type.

Most of the rompers I see are on 20-somethings, and while they might be able to go tight and short, a 33 year old can’t – at least I can’t! This looser, flowing silhouette was a perfect choice for my hourglass shape, and I love the layered fabric on the bodice/waistline. I paired the romper with a textured camel cross body bag, for on-the-go ease.

I picked up these fun layered pom bracelets earlier this summer, and have loved the playful pop of color they add to an outfit! Costume jewelry is a weakness of mine, and I strongly suggest when experimenting with trends to keep in mind they are seasonal. Not worth a big investment! I love wearing color in the summer, especially when playing with my accessories.

My good girlfriend Jess Boheim (@jessboheim) teamed up with me on this shoot to give me trending, bohemian hair styles. I love how well this half back crown braid paired with my romper! Such a feminine, flirty and fun hairstyle to try during the summer! Who loves braids as much as I do?! Check out Jess on Insta to follow her fabulous and talented hair and makeup work!

My gorgeous pink (of course) silk tassel and rose quartz, agate necklace was custom designed for me by my good friend, Rose. Rose owns a fine jewelry company in Los Angeles called @moonrockstorosesjewelry, and each of the stones she chooses are carefully selected to bring good energy to the person wearing it. Whether you are spiritual or not, her pieces are all carefully curated and designed with impeccable detail! Beautiful, artisanal jewelry at its finest!

Isn’t it stunning? I wear it year-round! Perfect for my trendy, feminine and bohemian aesthetic. Rose knows me well!

My glasses are Karen Walker – an oldie but a goodie. I’m quickly starting to hoard sunglasses as much as I hoard hats and costume jewelry! In the summer I like to rotate between aviators and Raybans and oversized, tortoiseshell styles.

Any fellow romper lovers out there?
