OOTD: The Culotte Jumpsuit

Hi everyone! Annie today!

Be on the lookout for occasional outfit-of-the-day (OOTD) posts coming from me. I’ll be showing you how to style some of the trends and staples throughout the summer. Hopefully you can pick up a couple of styling ideas and be inspired to take some risks yourselves!

Styling experts agree linen is a must-have fabric in your summer closet. Lightweight and breezy, its comfortable and breathable nature make it a must-have summer fabric for clients in my book.

I LOVE a good jumpsuit, and this season culottes are back with a vengeance! I’m on the fence about culottes personally (because I’m 5’6 and curvy, they can truncate my legs). If you know me, I tend to steer clients away from wearing capris because they cut off your leg mid-calf and can make your legs appear stumpy and short. However, culottes are traditionally flowy and unstructured, so this cropped leg culotte jumpsuit isn’t a problem – it doesn’t cling to your calves.

I have one from Revolve I wear as well, but found this black linen jumpsuit at Old Navy (yep!) and have gotten SO many compliments on it. It’s really flattering because it has an adjustable tie around the natural waist, which immediately calls attention to the smallest part of your body. I have an hourglass shape, so a defined waist is a must! However, this style would also flatter anyone who wants more definition in their waist.

When I was visiting Charleston and Savannah a few weeks ago, I picked up a few hats at the BEST hat store – Goorin Brothers. We all know I have a hat obsession, so this was a must. My hat was fully customizable, and my favorite part was adding a decorative peacock feather into the side.

I styled the jumpsuit with a turquoise and silver Aztec-inspired necklace from Free People, some wrap bracelets (@shopwesttoeast), my hat and my cheetah calf hair wrap sandals by Dolce Vita.

I feel comfortable in this outfit every time I wear it, and it breathes so easily in the hot summer temperatures. Highly recommend an easy culotte jumpsuit for summer – so effortless and casual-chic!
